
Aker Solutions, SLB and Subsea7 have now (2023.10.02) announced the final closing of the subsea Joint Venture deal. The new company will adopt the OneSubsea name.
Approx 5.500 of the 11.000 eployees comes from Aker Solutions. However, according to the deal, Aker will reduce its ownership to 20%, leaving SLB in charge. Aker Solutions, previously 16.000 employees on 52 locations in 11 countries, will continue its businesses in other segments, with the remaining 11.500 employees on 40 locations in (still) 11 countries.
This will significantly change the composition of the Global Works Council. Subsea representatives from Brazil (Curitiba), Malaysia (Port Klang), India (Pune), Angola (Luanda), UK (Aberdeen and Reading), US (Mobile, Alabama) and Norway (Ågotnes), alltogether 9 people, are now leaving the council. If possible, some of them will be replaced by other representatives from same country / other segment.
